Constructive Summer

“Let this be my annual remind, that we can all be something bigger”… The Hold Steady.

Suddenly it appears to be Summer. Or at least a very nice Spring day. Today it ended up getting into the early 30s C, and even now very late it’s still over 20 degrees. I love this weather, but it’s still a little disconcerting to have such a sudden jump — it only seems like last week I was still lamenting winter and rugging up for the morning commute… actually it was just last week.

Anyway, it’s hard to tell if this is a false start, or we really are back into the good Summer weather. I for one will welcome a return to quality weather, plus more sunshine in the day (and daylight savings in a few weeks). It’s been a bad winter for me, with regular illness, job problems and just that general winter malaise.

Summer is good for me. I get in a better frame of mind, feel like I can do more things, and just make things happen. It’s always been like that — Summer holidays were when I wrote the most growing up, so I hope I can make it the same thing now. (Although I remember that it seemed to rain much of last Summer, so that one wasn’t great.)

But like The Hold Steady says above, Summer is the time for potential, for dreaming big, and living large. And importantly, for getting things done and making things happen. If this is it, it’s time to make things happen.
