Found some great links at the Guardian online today:
A clever as hell diamond heist in London.
If someone else doesn’t use this as the start of a film script, then I will
An interview with Brit graffiti artist “Banksy”.
Fascinating stuff. Haven’t heard of the guy before, but the story is so damn interesting it makes me want to check out his work right now. His website. There’s two books of his work there that aren’t too expensive. The black stencil/copier style art reminds me of Brian Wood’s Channel Zero graphic novel, and I suppose they have similar political views. Gives me some ideas of my own of course
A few other things… up for a good job right now, should know in a day whether I’m getting it. Interview wasn’t even quite a week ago, but the agency I went through has been good about this, so they should be in contact with me by tomorrow. Hopefully this renewed activity here is the start of something big

It’s a strange experience to have someone ask you about your website, then watch them go and check it out while you’re standing right there. Just happened at work of course, and already I knew it would look crap because there’s so many things wrong here!
Just another sympton of the situation of course, but they were more interested in the blog setup than anything else I guess, so that wasn’t so bad. Reminded me how much I really need to fix this place up, redesign the page template and redo much of the content. It wouldn’t even be that hard, and every time I check the stats and discover that I’m getting upwards of half a dozen visitors everyday anyway (not a lot I know, but when you’re doing bugger all with the site, it’s still a surprise to find people coming to see it,) I know how well I could do here if I actually put more into it.
Suppose I’ll be getting artfulchaos.com setup soon, and maybe madaboutmovies.com.au as well, depending on how I feel about that (and how many movies I can actually manage to see.) Artfulchaos.com especially will have to be well thought out, because it will be a business, whereas this is just for fun, even if it does manage to help my profile or let people know what I’m doing.
Simplest first step of course is to fix up the top graphic bar. I like the sound of “stephen-turner.net - conformity is not an option” as a tagline for now. Simple and elegant is in, so there’s really no reason why I can’t design this well.
One step at a time… just got to take the step…

I heard about the new Blogger interface system… just had to post something to see how it works
I had a week off last week… went to Port Douglas in far North Queensland with the family (they paid, the only reason I was able to go… too complicated to explain right now.)
Great time, warm weather even when it was overcast, though I’m back “home” now and it’s freezing and shitty as usual. Still looking to get out of here (Canberra.)
Not sure where that quest is going right now…
