Thank bloody goodness that we didn’t have another sports person this year. Or an actor for that matter.
I’ve always thought that awarding an already famous and usually wealthy person is against the point of the award. You give it to someone who’s been toiling at something amazing in obscurity, and the recognition shines light on their valuable work.
Looks like the winners actually fit the bill this year.
