Nearing the closing stages now on SNAPSHOT… one way or another. I only need a couple of days to finish it off, it’s just a matter of finding the right days. I don’t quite know the future for it, but I’ll just get it out there and get on to something new.
There will be a film/comic project first, then straight on to the second novel. Oddly enough, that project is undergoing some revision (good thing I haven’t done more than plan it yet!) but I think it will be even better for the extra work.

While I might have a links page some day, check out my brother Wayne’s DJ website anyway. He’s known as DJ Overdose, but don’t hold that against him. Definitely a champion DJ of the future!

It was a good weekend… can’t believe it was only two weeks ago.

It’s been hard to do much in the last week… events have changed the world quite a bit. Everywhere you look, TV, papers, online, the horrors of New York and Washington are the only news in town.
I’m even slightly worried about SNAPSHOT. Only slightly… it is about violent extremists after all. Nothing in there that corresponds to recent events, but it’s a worry just the same. But it wouldn’t be published for a while, so I don’t think it’s a problem.
But world events, and now more than ever the consequences (is it really “war”? Against who?) make you think. But life will go on, and my work will continue.

I’ve spent most of today watching the news that has unfolded in New York and Washington, much like the rest of the world. Anyone I know in the area seems to be fine, but my god it is a horrendous event. Totally unbelievable.
I want to get other things done, but it’s so hard to get away from this tragedy.

Recovered from a hectic weekend – interview went great, met a bunch of people and took quite a few pictures. Several job opportunities may come up from this – always a good thing.
Right now, I have to be back to finishing SNAPSHOT. Only a couple of steps left – a week at the most if I put in a solid effort. That plus a couple of article submissions should be plenty of work for me.

Off to Comic Fest tomorrow. It should be a great weekend of fun and comics, where I plan to: interview Eddie Campbell, try and get a series proposal accepted by Phosphorescent Comics, try to get freelance journalism work, meet a lot of OzComics people and try and get work running a major website and take a tonne of photos while I’m there.
Sound like a lot? Tell me about it.

Check out this brilliant interview with writer Joss Whedon at The Onion AV Club. The man is just amazing and it’s interesting to see his ideas on TV versus film. Don’t forget to click on the bottom link that goes to the second part of the massive 9500 word piece!

Something new for me to do? Over the weekend, I saw a friend’s band perform and I took a lot of pictures with my nifty new digital camera. Variable results, but I’m told the best are actually quite good. I will definitely post the best of them here.
Might be something new for me to do, hey?
Oh, and check out the band I saw – Smoke.
