Well, I say again, but it was at least five weeks ago that I last had any time off. And this one is quite different today, mostly just the headache/temperature/coughing thing.
Half the time, I think I stay home from work on this because I want to avoid the hour and a half commute… ha ha.
Anyway, looking to get back to work tomorrow, no need to elaborate here.
Though, as further note on my phone situation, the thing still works, but apparently the ringer is broken. People ring me and I can’t hear it… ha ha.
I’m home kind of sick again, and yes of course I made The Hold Steady show, and of course it was the most amazing show in the world…
Longer review will be coming by the weekend, because I want to get it together and really put my thoughts down.
Since yesterday actually, but being sick on the weekend is not something to dwell on…
Well, sick and off work today. All efforts towards making sure I’m cool for the Hold Steady show on Wednesday night… for the next few days nothing is more important!
Well I don’t get a massive say in it right now, so it’s best to be positive. Holiday over, back on the day job tomorrow. We got back from Nelson Bay last night, so there was one more day off, and we had a “lovely” 40 degree day out here today (that’s celcius people!)
Spent most of the afternoon at Westpoint, the local shopping centre. Best air conditioning in town, naturally, though we had to take Will with us. He seems to have what I had a week ago, so he’s sick as a dog, and the weather is no fun for him at all. He has the saddest weakest little voice when he’s in this state… hope he’s better soon
Should be back in the swing of things tomorrow, though it’s a slow start until next week, and will be interesting to see where the job goes. It has to change — will it get better, or go nowhere?
Do not want to go into details, but needless to say, not very well at all today either. Laid low most of the morning, went out for some lunch, which I thought was light, but apparently it was all wrong because it came right back a few hours later.
So, more sleep, more panadol and such things, and then more sleep. Hopefully I’ll be better for New Year’s Eve.
Come down with a cold or flu or something. The morning was good, with more beach action and some long walking, but in the afternoon I just slept, and slept. Absolutely poured rain at about 3pm, but after that I only got worse.
Will not elaborate; this is a time of year I’d much rather be well!
Back at work today (despite the not-quite-finished moving status), and feeling pretty crap. Quiet day, everyone else is on deadline here, leaving me to struggle with the same old shit that I always have to deal with, with the same ridiculous problems that have no chance of being solved, it would appear.
I am really just becoming the poster-child for work-hating these days. And the problems are just so systematic and built into the situation — they’re not easily changed. It’s ridiculous.
Or maybe I’m just still exhausted. I mean, I know I’m still exhausted. Whether or not that is creating my rotten mental state, or just emphasising it, remains to be seen.
Barrel of laughs today, aren’t I?
I finally have little to say today. Moving all day, still moving, weather’s still bad, will still be moving tomorrow, might finish by the end of the day if I’m lucky. (Then straight back to work, ha ha..) Stiff and sore and really, really, tired.
Did let myself watch most of the grand final of course. I thought Manly would win, but 40-0? Didn’t see that one coming. Good result for Sydney league.
Back to moving… the late shift…
Another full day of moving, and just at the old house now, where we still have the computers setup because we won’t have phone lines at the new place until Wednesday. So I come by here late, pick up more stuff and then put something up here.
Long day, worse than yesterday because it rained, heavily, for large parts of the day, and I had to just walk straight through anyway. Getting a lot done… there’s still plenty of stuff left here, but it’s smaller and smaller stuff that shouldn’t be too hard to move. Bit worried about the garage though — lots of stuff left there it looks like.
Will be at it again tomorrow, got aches and bruises in places I didn’t even know I could get them… ha ha.
What I’d like to know is how can it be oer 20 degrees at 12.30am last night, but be down to about 14 by 11am today? I dressed for one kind of day at 7.30am, then discovered it was really another kind by the time I got to work.
Just when you think it’s Spring, it seems as if events conspire to make sure it’s back to being Winter again. A cold night, this one, it would seem.
Managed to grab some more time off work to get ourselves house hunting again, which of course is becoming quite the necessity. It’s hard not to feel the pressure, and the exhaustion, in all of this, but hopefully it will be resolved soon.
It’s cold now… like it’s August again, even though it’s nearly October now. The weather is… odd.
