Charlie’s personal blog

The psych asked me to start a journal. I told her I wouldn’t do it unless she let me do it online. Yes, I repeated to her, so that anyone could read it. Shouldn’t that be the point? First of all, I don’t think I’m insane, and neither does anyone else, it appears. I suppose ...

Youth Bytes: a new preview

Youth Bytes: a new preview
In a break from my recent programming, I want to post a preview of the new tone for Youth Bytes. Is it market research? Is it testing the waters? Don’t know really, but I might just look for a little feedback and see what happens. Don’t expect me to change it based on suggestions, but ...

I took some time today to teach Lachie...
I took some time today to teach Lachie a bit of stop motion animation. He’s only 3, so I didn’t expect him to get far or have much patience, but he was a quick learner… After a short time he got the idea, how to move objects, how to keep your hands out of shot. ...

Another blackout!

Just after I went to bed last night the power went out again… Too weird. Stayed out until 7am, and at one point I got up thinking it was the middle of the night, but I was actually 6.45am… Too weird. So is this the reason I felt so rubbish today? That I slept off ...

Blackout!

A pretty routine work day got a bit odd at about 2pm when the power suddenly went out. Not that weird in itself, but basically, it didn’t come back. We checked the fuses, I checked at home, found the whole town was out, so that was that. I ended up going home at 3.30, but ...

A highlight from last week

A highlight from last week

Watch Food Safari

Watch Food Safari
There’s a lot of really bad cooking shows on commercial television. And on SBS, as a complete opposite, there’s Food Safari. Earlier tonight they looked at Laotian food. Next week they look at Polish food. They’ve done every country you can think of, but no doubt there will be more. And when I say Laotian ...

Springsteen brings a great night

Springsteen brings a great night
It’s a couple of days later now and it already feels kind of unreal. I don’t get to see a huge amount of concerts now, and while the memory isn’t fading, somehow the effect is. That’s more a testament to how great the concert was than anything else, but it makes trying to write in ...

Long slow day

Long drive home today, busy night. Really need to write more about the Springsteen concert and post some of the video and images. Good times! Glad to be right back home though now. Share this:TwitterFacebookEmailLike this:Like Loading...

Wests show some form

A nice lunch out today while I’m in Sydney, to Oliveto’s at Rhodes. Good Italian food combined with incredibly busy and large crowds, usually big Italian family gatherings. It’s always off putting when you arrive, bit it never hampers service or food quality. I had their Risotto special, with prawns, saffron and other assorted wonders. ...
