Headed out bright and very early to the Google Apps summit being held at MLC school in Burwood. Could only gawk at how modern and wealthy the school grounds were, but that wasn’t the point of the day.
The point was that this was a big event being held in aid of the whole suite of Google Apps in Education, and with the Department rolling out its own setup of Google Apps (things like Drive, Sites and Forms), I was able to convince my school to let me go along.
A good day, not something I get to do a lot. Met a lot of folks from Yammer and Twitter for the first time in-person, which was probably the best part of the day. I always love the extra social aspect if I can get it.
And the Apps look good — it’s stuff I’ve been using for years like Docs/Drive, but the challenge will be in getting out there and used by other staff at school, and then students. Big challenges ahead this year, which is great because I am entering the fourth year of this job and it still feels like a challenge, and like fun, and that’s something I’ve *never* had before after this much time. Bring it on 🙂
