On organ donation in general, but specifically on kidney transplants and on Mark Colvin’s very recent kidney transplant. Such an important and worthy issue, obviously one I’m very involved with! Organ transplants change live, and organ donation drives that — whether as a post-mortem donation, or a live donor situation.
We really should have an opt-out rather than opt in system. I never want to have to make that choice about a loved one, but if I do the answer will always be yes, and I’d expect my loved ones to say the same about me. How can you possibly say no?
As for live donation, that’s an even more worthy thing if you can do it, or if you really have to do it. My son is so much the better for it.
