Years ago, I used to spend a lot of time thinking and planning, and even dreaming. In a lot of ways I knew this was “cart before the horse” stuff, spending more time dreaming and not enough doing, but now I’ve had a different perspective.

I think it was and is much healthier to be a dreamer, and a planner, and I don’t think I’ve been that as much recently, at all. Of course, getting a little more “doing” out there would help me immensely, but that thinking, planning and dreaming side is still a healthy thing, even if you’re just imagining better things for the future.

And it’s not like I don’t think I have a better future or anything… but, I don’t know… it’s just seemed less apparent to me in the last few years. I think it’s quite possible that the older you get, the less of a “dreamer” you are, unless you work hard at retaining that aspect. When you’re young, it’s easy, when you’re older, it can be there, if you work at it.

I hope this doesn’t sound too grim… really, I think it’s more of a wake-up call than anything else. A reminder of sorts. To keep myself going, and improving.
