Well there goes State of Origin again

Another year, and oddly enough, another loss for New South Wales in the State of Origin series. We go down 2-1 again. We lose because of bad selections, again.

Queensland win again

No brilliance in the halves again. Anasta and Pearce weren’t bad per se, but they were average, and it became clear in the last 15 minutes just how average they were. Whereas Thurston was able to comandeer the match by himself, even after Prince went off injured.

NSW had no brilliance, and the fact that they only scored one try in two games proved that.

And for some reason, despite Kurt Gidley being the best player on the field in the first half, he didn’t play the last 20 minutes. He had the best attack and defense, and would have been a better half. Through in Jarrod Mullen there for the combination, would have been a better selection that Anasta and Pearce.

We still can’t get over losing Andrew Johns, it would seem.

Oh well, there’s always next year.
