It’s hard not to be interested by cricket in the summer here, and when Australia plays like they are at the moment, it’s hard not to be impressed.
Test goes down to the final day, the opposition is mostly actually quite good for once, it looks for anything like a draw … but we pull it out of the bag with just seven balls remaining in the day. Amazing!
Kudos to the team … there’s already questions about sportsmanship and umpiring decisions, as there always is, but still, they played well, they played tough but fair, and they won. Symonds was easy man of the match, and Lee, Hogg and Hayden were especially good, Clarke was amazing bowling (but surprisingly bad batting,) and Hussey came good in the second innings.
In summer, too much cricket is never enough! Bring on test win 17!
